James Middleton has announced his engagement to Alizee Thevenet.

Middleton, who is the younger brother of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa, shared with his 150,000 followers on Instagram that he had proposed to his girlfriend during a trip to the Lake District.

More specifically, he noted that his French native girlfriend said ‘oui’ to his proposal.

‘Our secret is out,’ Middleton confirmed on Instagram following initial reports of their engagement. ‘But we couldn’t be happier to share the news.’

The adorable photo showed the grinning couple cuddling up, surrounded by the beautiful views of the Lake District, with Thevenet displaying her sapphire engagement ring which is not wholly dissimilar from her soon-to-be sister-in-law’s heirloom ring.

The couple were first linked publicly last year when Thevenet was pictured in the background of an Instagram of dog-lover Middleton’s pup excitedly jumping into a swimming pool.

In January, Middleton and Thevenet joined Pippa and her husband James Matthews on holiday in St Barts along with Matthew’s brother Spencer and wife Vogue Williams.

While no further information has been provided on when or where the wedding ceremony will take place, we can expect to see some royal faces at the nuptials.

His sister, Kate, brother-in-law William and Middleton’s nephews and niece George, Louis and Charlotte are likely to attend – potentially serving as page boys and a bridesmaid, just like they did at their aunt Pippa’s wedding in 2017.Middleton also attended both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in 2018 and earlier this year, Lady Gabriella Windsor’s s wedding to Thomas Kingston, both held in Windsor, so more royals and extended royals could be receiving their save-the-dates soon.
