Meghan Markle‘s royal maternity leave will end next week, but before it does the new mom and Duchess of Sussex is going away for the weekend. Just like us plebians squeezing in one last holiday weekend out of September, Markle is traveling to New York City for a quick getaway. Unlike us though, she’s headed to see her friend and world champion Serena Willams compete in the U.S. Open final.

Williams will plays against Bianca Andreescu on Saturday, and we expect Markle to continue her long tradition of cheering her friend on from the stands. People reports that the excursion will be a solo trip sans Prince Harry and four-month-old baby Archie. The weekend is the perfect excuse for Markle to break out her traditional athleticwear style of a sleek, low ponytail with a bit of additional royal volume.

In July, Markle showed up at Wimbledon to watch Williams. Newly married and ensconced in the royal family, she sat with sister-in-law Kate Middleton and again wore a trademark posh, low ponytail. Markle’s last visit to the U.S. Open was in 2016, when she showed up “looking like [she] walked straight out of a Pantene ad,” as TotalBeauty writes. With over a year of being a royal and having a new baby, we’re rooting for a return to this loose, wavey look this weekend. All eyes will be on Williams as she goes for her 24th Grand Slam title — but some will certainly peek over to Markle and the fabulosity she’s bound to bring to the court.

Markle’s maternity leave will officially end on September 12, reports Vanity Fair. On that date, she’ll attend a launch for a charity clothing line that she designed with Misha Nonoo. Now thatsounds like an event that calls for fly hair.
