Meghan Markle’s evolving wardrobe is attributed to one important member of the British royal family.
Stephen Jones, a fashion expert, told Express that Markle may be compared to Queen Elizabeth II when it comes to her fashion choices because she understands that simplicity is the best.
“There is a restraint and elegance to her, which is wonderful. There is also an understanding about the power of clothing – she is an actress and she knows the meaning behind all of those clothes,” he said.
Just like Her Majesty, the Duchess of Sussex tends to avoid wearing prints in favor of block colors and monochrome with a simple silhouette. Markle opts for clean lines and never anything fussy just like how the monarch, especially now, also wears clean lines.
“They have to look correctly dressed out of respect, as opposed to just fashionably dressed, but they are really aware of those things, too,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Jones also dished on what it has been like working with Prince Harry’s wife. Markle has sported Jones’ designs several times since she joined the royal family. Jones was also commissioned to design hats for Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, and her close friends for her May 19 royal wedding.
Jones said that being invited by Markle to create the hats for the most important people in her life has been a huge privilege and honor. The fashion expert and Milliner has also worked with other celebrities like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Beyoncé.
In related news, Markle also made headlines this week after it was reported that she and Prince Harry will soon separate from Prince William and Kate Middleton. E! News chief correspondent Melanie Bromley claimed that the rumored division will deepen as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge come to terms with their future role in the royal family.
While speaking with Express, Bromley said that Markle and Middleton are going through changes that have actually more to do with their respective husbands.
