Prince George hilariously revealed his “secret” name during his recent walkabout with his grandmother Carole Middleton.

The adorable 5-year-old and his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, came across a dog walker in Berkshire in the weekend. The woman, who didn’t want to reveal her name, revealed that she was asked by a police officer to not take photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s two older children. However, Prince George approached her to stroke her dog.

“Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it. To my astonishment, he said, ‘I’m called Archie,’ with a big smile on his face,” the dog walker told The Sun.

The source said that she is not sure why Prince George referred to himself as Archie, but it is possible that the youngster simply invented a name that he wanted to say. However, it is also possible that Prince George is using Archie as his secret name in public to protect his real identity.

Growing up, Prince William referred to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as Gary because he couldn’t pronounce the word granny. Prince George and Princess Charlotte grew up calling their great-grandmother “Gan Gan.” Prince Charles fondly calls Meghan Markle “Tungsten” because of her tough and unbending nature.

But there have also been rumors suggesting that Prince William and Middleton use the secret code names Danny Collins and Daphne Clark. DC is their initials because they are known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince Harry and Markle are secretly known as David Stevens and Davina Scott because the initials DS refer to their royal titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“If anyone got a hold of a phone belonging to a royal aide or security team member, they won’t find Harry Windsor and Meghan’s name in it. It is far too risky in the wrong hands – they get given code names but they are changed regularly for obvious reasons,” a source said.
