The planning that goes into royal tours is meticulous, from the accommodation and engagements down to the finer details.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are embarking on their second official overseas visit together, following on from their South Pacific tour last autumn.

Staff usually do recces of each place on the itinerary in advance so the couple will know who they are meeting and what they’ll be doing.

This is the last form of air travel that Meghan can do until the birth of her and Harry’s first child in April or May, so that adds an extra layer of logistics to the trip.

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie tells Yahoo UK‘s ‘The Royal Box‘ that it’s likely that a doctor will travel with the couple to Morocco.

He says: “Kensington Palace would have looked into medical centres and the nearest options to wherever they’re staying.

“I believe they’re going to be staying at one of the Government residences there but they’ll probably also – and this hasn’t been confirmed – but I would imagine they’ll be travelling with a doctor too, who we won’t see, but they’ll be there.”

It’s not unusual for a member of the Royal Family to travel abroad with medical staff. The Queen is often accompanied by a Royal Navy doctor when travelling overseas.

Meghan and Harry fly to Morocco on Saturday for a three-day visit, at the request of the UK Government.

Education, youth and sport are the main focuses of their trip. Engagements will include the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports and ‘Education for All’ boarding house in the Atlas Mountains.
