While Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, has previously spoken about her favourite UK holiday destination, a new report focusses on her travels abroad, and why she sometimes books more than one plane seat.
And no, it’s nothing to do with privacy.
In a new Channel 5 documentary, Secrets Of The Royal Flight, Royal correspondent Emily Andrews revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge regularly books a spare seat to hang her clothes on, ensuring they don’t crease. Are we allowed to ask for this next time we only travel with hand luggage, please?
‘Obviously when we go to the airports, especially when it’s hand luggage only, we’re trying to cram all our toiletries into that plastic bag,’ she commented.. ‘[We all know] it’s never big enough.’
The Royal commentator added that she had ‘been on a plane where Kate’s dresses had their own seat to make sure they were kept flat. They are not going to be shoved in the hole just to be squashed by everyone else’s.’
This comes as ITV‘s Royal Editor, Chris Ship took to Twitter to shut down claims Kate and Prince William had recently chosen to fly on a budget airline as a ‘dig’ at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
‘Anyone who thinks William & Kate might have chosen to fly budget airline to make a point after Harry & Meghan’s private jets – doesn’t have a clue about royal travel plans,’ he wrote on Twitter.
‘[Plans] are made months in advance. Especially when it’s about visiting The Queen at Balmoral,’ he continued.
So there you go.
